The Engineer’s
Answer to Global Warming: Why It Is No Longer an Issue
|
|
Professor
Hiroshi Shimizu of Keio University |
 |
If you feel helpless about the issue of
global warming, Professor Hiroshi Shimizu of Keio
University has good news.
He says that 21-st century technology provides us
with exciting answers to the problem, making it possible
to save the world in such a way that everyone, and not
just a handful of winners, can benefit and enjoy a
better life.
He says that we are at the brink of a second
industrial revolution, based on new developments in
quantum physics during the last century.
|
|
Professor Shimizu has developed many
electric cars, including the world’s fastest electric
car, Eliica,
which can run at a maximum speed of 370 km per hour.
His quest for the development of an
energy-efficient electric car began during his years at
the National Institute for Environmental Studies, where
one of his early achievements included the development
of the world’s largest laser radar system.
Now he is at the forefront of developing future
cars at Keio University.
He has written numerous books on electric cars
and new eco systems, including
Preventing Global
Warming – A Scientist’s Proposal to Al Gore
(translation of
Japanese title) in 2007, and has been featured
innumerable times on TV and in the mass media.
|
 |
|
Come join us to hear Professor Shimizu
explain how we can say “goodbye” to
a way of life which has been heavily reliant on fossil
fuel and technology such as the internal combustion
engine, invented in the 19th century, and
move forward to a world with a new industrial structure,
where everyone on this planet, not just a handful of
people, can enjoy a good standard of living AND do away
with worries about global warming !
