Throughout the year, VVI gives needed English language support to the visually impaired community in the Tokyo area. Have an inspiring and fun volunteer experience in 2010 by taking part in VVI! Here’s what we do: * English Conversation class at the Japan Vocational Development Center for the Blind, held weekly on Thursday afternoons from 1 -3 pm. To find out more about this program, pair up as an assistant to the regular volunteer teacher to see firsthand if you’d like to take part on a more regular basis. * At Tsukuba High School for the Blind, VVI volunteers help students prepare for the interview section of EIKEN English language proficiency tests upon request of the school, twice a year. * English Conversation Gatherings are get-togethers to provide Japanese visually impaired adults an opportunity for enjoying English through interesting, cross-cultural programs. Held about 3-4 times a year, all CWAJ members and family are welcome to take part. No previous experience with the disabled is necessary to take part in any VVI program. All CWAJ members are warmly welcomed to join in the fun and inspiring programs of VVI! |
