The exciting 66th CWAJ Print Show was over on October 29, starting from Donors Special Preview Sale for 33 hours, then the in-person show at Daikanyama, and ended with a six day Online Gallery. First and foremost, we would like to thank the Print Show Committee, the Board officers, customers and every volunteer including Overseas members who came all the way to visit and help this year′s Print Show.
Thanks to the untiring effort and the dedication of the PS committee members and volunteers, this year’s sales including the prints and the Products amounted to more than 20 million yen as of October 31, which is more than 13 percent up from the last year’s sales figure at the end of the 2022 fiscal year. As more deposits will come in November, we are excited to see the sales results of this year’s show.
After all, the Print Show was a great success this year, too, and it was wonderful that we were able to re-realize the CWAJ’s strength, willingness to take on new challenges, and the friendship among the members throughout the show. We had a very casual reunion gathering for the overseas members during the show, and a total of 55 members attended. All enjoyed catching up with old friends and meeting with new members!
The technological challenge introduced to the Print sales area this year was that we shifted from VISA Card machine to SQUARE device in processing with the credit cards. Until last year we used the VISA card machine, and it took more than one month for us to receive the deposit of the sales from the card companies, However, with the SQUARE transaction, we were immediately able to receive the deposit in our bank account. Even a few days after the Online Show, we were able to receive a large sum of the October sales money in our bank account. Special thanks go to the Sales team including Treasurer team and Product team for their survey on a rental Wi-Fi and introduction of the SQUARE device to sell the prints smoothly and efficiently.
You can still view prints exhibited at the Print Show this year as well as the Guided Tour videos at Online Gallery page CWAJ Home – CWAJ Print Show Online Gallery (cwaj-gallery.jp)
On another note, the board approved in November the proposal submitted from the PS committee concerning another travelling show to be held at Highfield Hall in Cape Cod, U.S.A. in 2025. Some of you may remember that many CWAJ members visited the beautiful Hifhfield Hall & Gardens in 2016 to attend the Kanreki Show 60th Print Show held there. The details for the show in 2025 will be discussed hereafter and we will keep you updated.
