Moving overseas? Please notify the Member Activities Committee at firstname.lastname@example.org! We can help connect you with our Overseas Member Coordinators, Silvia Wilson (US-based members) and Jennie Orchard (non-US members). We now have a large group of Overseas Members (OMs), and Silvia and Jennie do a wonderful job of introducing new OMs to others in their region, as well as keeping OMs informed of CWAJ happenings. One of the few positives of the pandemic is that there are now more ways that our OMs can remain actively involved in CWAJ activities, as a number of our events are now offered in hybrid and online formats. Some of our OMs facilitate their own get-togethers – a highlight of October was being able to welcome a contingent who traveled to Tokyo for our annual Print Show! We are so grateful for their continued support of CWAJ.
This month, we are thrilled to introduce three new members:
Sandra Germay (Belgium/Britain)
Jamaica Obeso (Philippines/France)
Claire Woo (Australia)
We look forward to welcoming Sandra, Jamaica and Claire at upcoming CWAJ events and activities.
A strength of CWAJ is the diversity of our members, who represent many different countries and span a number of generations. Recently, it has been lovely to welcome a number of Junior Members and students, too. Now that the renewal period has come to a close, we can announce that we currently have 366 members, of which 289 are based here in Japan, and 77 reside overseas. Japanese members represent 62% of our organization, and 38% are Non-Japanese.
Thank you to those of you who have referred acquaintances to CWAJ and recommended our organization to family and friends. We are always appreciative of referrals – prospective members can contact us via the CWAJ website, https://cwaj.org/home/join/, or email us directly at email@example.com if they would like more information about becoming a member.
