CWAJ CELEBRATES INTERNATIONAL WOMEN’S DAY

On March 6, CWAJ celebrates International Women’s Day with Mimoza Ways! See a dramatized reading of Mimoza Ways’ play about Japanese women’s experiences through 100 years of history, and exchange views and reflect on women’s place in society.

Mimosa Ways is a Japanese-French co-production that has been garnering rave reviews since its 2022 premiere. It is the first Japanese production to look back on 100 years of Japanese women’s history, from the Seito Movement of Hiratsuka Raicho, a women’s liberation activist and critic, to present day, and portrays the experiences of Japanese women with a touch of humor. This reading of Mimoza Ways is directed by Yu Yamagami, starring Tsurumatsu Matsukuma, Yuko Ueno, Rena Koto and Yu Yamagami. The event includes a special talk after the performance for CWAJ members and the public with Namino Rivoal Hori, producer and translator, and the director and cast.

The event will be held only in Japanese. Open to the public. Please invite and/or bring guests.
