Summary:
Lensei will grace the stage with a festive performance, blending the warmth of traditional carols with the lively energy of pop and the sophisticated tones of jazz. Accompanying himself on the piano, Lensei will create a delightful musical experience perfect for the holiday season.
Profile:
Lensei is a Tokyo-based singer-songwriter with a rich and diverse musical background. He has penned songs for prominent Japanese artists like Mika Nakashima and Tomohisa Yamashita. Notably, Mika Nakashima’s 2006 single CRY NO MORE, co-written by Lensei, achieved a top 10 hit on the Oricon charts, and his songs have sold over one million copies.
Lensei’s extensive performance experience ranges from venues like the Nagoya 2005 Expo to the Tokyo Dome Baseball Stadium and various luxury hotels and concert halls across Japan. Previously, Lensei was also a member of the jazz vocal group, Jammin’ Zeb. During his time with Jammin’ Zeb, the group released several albums and performed for enthusiastic crowds at venues across Japan and even at a Fanclub tour to Los Angeles, California. Jammin’ Zeb has also sung at the Tokyo American Club for its Women’s Group, and twice at the American Embassy for Ambassador Kennedy’s Independence Day celebrations. After a brief hiatus from performing in 2024, Lensei is now enthusiastically restarting his solo career.
Save the Date: We will kick off the New Year 2026 on 14 January with an online meeting featuring Bruce Smith, who will speak on the profound influence of Japanese aesthetics on early twentieth-century architects Greene and Greene who followed the Arts and Crafts fundamentals. Please mark your calendars!
