In Memorium Amy Flint
Date: October 8, 2025
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of long-time CWAJ member Amy Flint. She had been an American member since 31 August 1965.
Born the daughter of Japanese diplomat Yosoe Ogimi and Irishwoman Mabel Jones, who came to Japan in 1919 to join her brother, Thomas Jones, who was working as an illustrator and English teacher. Amy spent her childhood in various foreign countries, before returning to Japan and residing first in Yotsuya and then in Ninomiya. She graduated from Reed College with a degree in Mathematics, and was currently residing in San Francisco. She would come back to Japan from time to time, and her last visit was before the pandemic.
We are grateful to Amy for supporting CWAJ for such a long time as an Overseas Member. We would like to extend our heartfelt condolences to her family.
May she rest in peace.
