CWAJ at EXPO 2025 Osaka/Kansai!

There will be a CWAJ program at the “WA” Space, Women’s Pavilion in collaboration with Cartier on Friday, July 25. The WA Space is for programs where participants will discuss various “issues and topics.” The overall theme of the Women’s Pavilion is When Women Thrive, Humanity Thrives with the purpose of publicizing both in Japan and abroad Japan’s initiatives and the status of women’s empowerment and advancement in Japan as well as introducing the status of women’s empowerment and advancement in the world.

The title of CWAJ’s program is Empowerment through Education; CWAJ – Women Supporting Women. The panel discussion will feature three CWAJ Scholars who will share how education has empowered them to reach their potential and become leaders in their fields. The program will include an interactive Q&A session. We’re pleased to announce that the following CWAJ Scholars in “WA” Space program are:
Rin Ishikawa (Kikuchi), 2023 CWAJ Cartier Scholar/Study Abroad
Makoto Ogoda
, 2005 Scholar for the Visually Impaired,
Sangita Das, 2000 Non-Japanese Graduate Scholar.

There will be two one-hour sessions: 1) 11:45 – 12:45; and 2) 13:30-14:30. The space seats up to 80 people. Attendance for all events in the “WA” Space will be by lottery. CWAJ has reserved some seats for our members. If you are interested in attending, please contact Joanna Chinen.

If you plan on attending EXPO, you will need to get your own EXPO entrance ticket. Expo will be held from April13 to October 13, 2025, from 9:00 am to 10:00 pm. There is a difference in price depending on purchasing before EXPO begins on April 13.
